First Sunday of Advent

📅 The fourth Sunday before Christmas ⏳ 24 days to go

What is it? 🤔

Advent means "arrival". It is the countdown to Christmas: we light one more candle every Sunday.

Traditions 🎊

  • ✨Light the first of four candles on the advent candlestick.
  • ✨Put up a glowing paper star (adventsstjärna) and candle lights in the windows.
  • ✨Open the first doors of the julkalender, and watch the TV Christmas calendar from 1 December.

Let's make it: Advent countdown chain ✂️

You need

  • ☑️ 24 paper strips in two colours
  • ☑️ Glue or tape
  • ☑️ Pen

Tip: tap a step when you've done it! Always ask a grown-up to help with scissors, ovens and anything hot.
