Lucia
Saint Lucy's Day
📅 13 December
⏳ 38 days to go
What is it? 🤔
In the darkest time of the year, Lucia brings light! Early in the morning a girl dressed in white with a crown of candles walks in a procession, singing, followed by her friends.
Traditions 🎊
- ✨Lucia wears a long white dress, a red sash and a crown of candles (or lights).
- ✨Tärnor (girls in white with glitter), stjärngossar (star boys with tall paper hats), tomtenissar and pepparkaksgubbar walk behind her.
- ✨Schools and preschools have a Luciatåg (Lucia procession). Maybe you will be in one!
- ✨Everyone sings "Sankta Lucia" and "Natten går tunga fjät".
Let's make it: Make a paper Lucia crown ✂️
